ROIWFA 65s Welsh Masters Finalists

The ROIWFA over 65’s men’s team qualified after the league stage (over two days) to play in the World Masters Final in Wales on Saturday 15th August

Our opponents were England EWF

Our last meeting was in the Triskellion Cup Final in Birmingham in July when we lost in the last minutes to an England penalty awarded for 4 running offences (FA rules) against us . We were keen to win this time .

England got a very nice early goal scored by their Player/Manager Graham Liddiard. 

Ireland battled well and both teams played very good quality walking football .

Given the rules we were playing to, both teams also avoided conceding a penalty for 5 offences (UEFA rules on this occasion)

We were both sitting on 4 at the final whistle .

The game was played in a competitive but friendly manner.

Congratulations to a very good (and nice) England EWF team .
